This is a Full Moon Poya day, a day of religious observance for Buddhists. We were trying to figure out if it was a public holiday, but we guessed not. We did notice more morning activities at the temples.

For the second day running, we walked down to the downtown market area and took enough time so that we had lunch there. We had a proper sit down lunch at a local place but bought some takeaway for dinner. Unlike our usual vacation spots, Jay may not do a lot of cooking here. It seems as though it'll be easier to let others make our food. Jay, however, is not happy unless he visits major markets. We walked through and bought some tropical fruit. Most things that grow in SE Asia are familiar to him from Sri Lanka. Yet, we did buy some fruit today which he didn't know.

I'm pretty sure a two hour nap time is going to become the norm here. The temperature here is hotter than we are used to. Today, the temperature probably reached 34C (92F), and as the weeks continue, it will probably get progressively warmer. Resting in the A/C room makes sense. Another evening walk seems nice.
