Apparently, Santa Claus saved up some undelivered boxes for this year though. It surely seems like a whole lot of things have arrived here in December: lights, a new mattress, coffeemaker, refrigerator, and stove. Today, we got our stainless steel frying pan with a ceramic non-stick coating. I'm sure we've never owned a pan that wasn't from a bargain rack.
Chickpeas and spices waiting for the addition of chicken.
Did you know that several of the chemicals used in normal Teflon pans can be found in measurable amounts in most every American? Although there is no conclusive evidence that these non-stick surfaces cause health risks, it seems like something best avoided. Another interesting fact is that birds are especially susceptible to breathing problems and even death caused by the fumes released from traditional, non-stick coatings. I guess we all know about the canary in the coal mine.
I wonder how this potentially more-healthy ceramic coating will hold up?
