The shipment came from the Canadian, memory-foam mattress company, Endy Sleep. That's named after the mythological Greek ruler, Endymion. The box measured about 15 x 15 x 66 inches. It's kind of amazing that a 10" queen-sized mattress could fit in such a small space. The shipping weight was supposed to be around 45 lbs but I think it was closer to 65.
This morning we stripped the bed and put the old Sealy mattress against the wall. I am embarrassed to admit that the bed skirt probably had not been washed for a couple of years. Oh, and who knew my feather pillow could possibly shed so much! The six by four piece of carpeting we'd saved was also under the box springs. After vacuuming, we put all back in order as we are using the box spring under the new mattress.
Rolling the tightly-wrapped mattress onto the box springs was easy as was cutting along the perforation in the plastic wrapping. It started to immediately grow back into its shape. Some people had mentioned that we would need to air out the chemical smell but we couldn't identify any. Now everything is back in order as we disposed of the box, and put on the new mattress pad and bedding.
I guess the real review should come tomorrow morning. However, we might be able to sneak in a little nap this afternoon too.
