Today, from the time we got up we knew it was going to be dusty. It's not severe compared to sandstorms we witnessed during our days in the Gulf. This one is not riding in on a shamal. Still, it creates that same sort of desire to stay-at-home as a wicked Nor'easter in New England, or the soupy fog that can hang around for an entire Metro-Vancouver winter day. One might be tempted to complain, but actually it feels a little comforting as long as one doesn't have to be out in it.
In Upper Egypt the sand storm is not very pronounced. The temperature here in Luxor today is 21C and the sky a little greyish from the sand.
