It was quite warm today. So, we decided to run up to a laundromat. Since coming back from our camping trip to Bella Coola, we had been meaning to wash our dependable, old sleeping bags in a large-format machine.We hadn't used the bags for quite a while. The very first time we tried washing them, we put in too much laundry detergent in one of the high-capacity machines. It was foaming and the attendant had to come and add fabric softener to quell all the bubbles. Also, once friends borrowed and washed them as a courtesy before returning them. Nothing can get dirty when zipped up in our larger suitcases; it truly had been a while.
The specific laundromat which we would have used burned down last month! We went to one up on 12th Street. It was closed once when we tried to check it out. The machines were a little old but they worked fine. We put in the bags and then drove to do errands in uptown New Westminster. In 45 minutes there was enough time for that!
We came home and dried them in the sun on the balcony. They are all ready for another adventure. Where? When?
