We successfully made it home. Today's 500 kilometers (300 miles) were on increasingly dodgy tires. I have already called to make a Monday appointment for an oil change which is now 1600 miles past due and at least a couple of new tires.
It's sad the wildlife sightings have been a bit sparse on the trip. We saw one black bear on Highway 20. I think there's one less small rodent as I may have squashed a chipmunk which didn't get out of the way once. Today, we saw a deer cross the road near Clinton. So finally, it was nice to spot many mountain goats as we were coming out of the mountains nearing the city of Hope. At about this point, as we descended down into town, we noticed some darker clouds too.

We had hardly encountered any rain during our trip. We may have had a few drops on our second night. Nothing was damp by the next morning though. I used my windshield wipers on the third day, but we had most all sun during our trip.
As we ate lunch in Hope, it started to pour. It's about an hour and a half away from home. It continued to pour down during the last 150 kilometers. I could see practically nothing as we crossed the Port Mann nearing home. (My fingers are crossed that the plate reader didn't pick up our license number for the bridge toll.) I can't think of a better way to come back. Now all the accumulated bugs and road grime are gone! I had a free car wash. I don't think there was any rain around here until today. We need it. Perhaps the grass will get green again. Lots to wash when at home too. How nice it is having unlimited hot water and a big, colourful television!
I'm glad to say I've been to Bella Coola by road whereas many people who live in Metro-Vancouver have not. I love this province of British Columbia so much more when I get a chance to get out into it.
