We went to the movies for a noon showing of The Exodus. We went to the Gallerias near the cruise ship terminal on a Wednesday primarily because that's cheap movie day. We did not see this show in 3D as it wasn't being offered in English today. Still, it was an interesting movie for the admission price of just $US 2.30.
By the time the movie was over we were pretty hungry and we ate the buffet in the Sirloin Stockade right in the same mall. I ate far too much and am still feeling uncomfortable. I kept thinking of the retro ad about Alka Sultzer where the guy keeps saying, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing." Before getting on the return bus, we walked into the Walmart next door but it was a major zoo. Obviously a lot of people put off buying their presents until the very last minute.

On the way home, we stopped to buy a full cooked chicken as the meat for a Christmas meal tomorrow. Interestingly, here most people seem to take home their big meals. All the supermarkets and even the buffet we were in today, offer a per individual price for the entire Christmas meal. The folk here really do enjoy their food. This is the only country in the world that has recently become fatter than the United States.
It seems as though tonight is going to be quite a celebration! We saw a lot piñatas in transit. It is now getting pretty dark at 7:00 pm. We will have to walk around and see if we can see any of the big posadas tonight. Maybe I can snap a photo of the church's nativity scene with the Jesus in the manger. Although everything has been in place for a few weeks, we have to wait until tonight to see the baby.
