When the sun peeked over the hill to the east of us at 9:30, it was welcomed. The sun rose in this city at 7:35 today. Yet we are nested on the wrong side of a mountain, so sunshine hits our balcony nearly two hours late. We hadn't really thought about what to do on this Boxing Day.
First, we decided to pick up the new, free tourist papers: the PV Mirror and Vallarta Tribune. We know that they're available on Fridays at a market that takes place in a hotel lobby right by the pier. It's hard to tire to the view there. As a winter place, Puerto Vallarta fits us so well. Even though there are a few clouds in the sky, it is about a perfect 28C (82F) presently. It always cools down in the evenings; for example, it will probably dip to 19C (66F) tonight.

Next, with the newspapers in hand, we were going to catch a bus to Ley's Supermarket at the north end of the Centro. A tunnel bus came along instead so jumped aboard and took a quick trip to the Walmart Supermercado at Macro Plaza instead. Getting on a bus costs 7.5 pesos (US $0.51) regardless of the distance travelled. This means when going farther, the only extra cost involves one's time. Thank God, that's something of which we've now got a sufficient supply. :-)
