I have not taken to simply having this blog be a list of the day's events, but I did want to briefly add something else I managed today. I am getting adept at finding online, mp4 copies of feature films. In fact, I mentioned replacing many of my old DVD copies not long ago. I gave several dozen to friends when we were guests for Canadian Thanksgiving. (Chris, did any of the first batch work on your player?) I'm saying this only because I brainstormed three, new films that I wouldn't want to be without if stranded on a desert island. That is my criteria for deciding if a film is worthy of collecting.
I found them. I have them. I was shocked at the visual clarity of the three movies I added to my collection today. They were: The African Queen (1951), Silent Running (1972), and Flashdance (1983). All of these are classics for very different reasons.
I certainly wouldn't mind hearing about others' desert-island listings. Email, message, or text me.
