I never ever thought that I'd be posting a picture of Prince; yet here it is!You will see the cover of Purple Rain, the movie as representative of the change in my video collection over the last 30 years. I recall this as one of my first, illegally-copied videos. When I worked in Taif, Saudi Arabia, we used to get hold of copies duped by Filipino acquaintances down in Jeddah. They always had the clearest copies of desirable films. That was in 1985.
I believe I also had a copy on DVD when I used to buy huge spools of empty DVDs. I thought a computer DVD burner was the coolest invention. That was around the most recent millennium.
Now, a copy of this "film" is sitting on a mobile hard drive purchased especially for my Minix NEO media player. I can't really remember what the plot is, so maybe it is time to click on the icon. He is the artist once formerly known as Prince, who at one time became a symbol only. He is Prince again, right? He is still alive, isn't he?
