Judith Rae: Being retired is kinda like being
a teen with more freedom and some money.
This morning, I added a Facebook status update about the pleasure of being able to sleep in rather than having to get up for work at 6:10 am. I liked this comment that Judith added. She has been practising at this retirement thing for a few years now. No, these colourful leaves are not trying to imply the autumn of life, or any such nonsense.
I just snapped this photo near the New Westminster Public Library today. I had the time to walk uptown while listening to Motown hits on my phone. The rain was holding off at the time and a bit of sun even peeked out from under the cloud cover for a few minutes. I felt completely ensconced in a new, relaxed mental state. At this point early-retirement still seems more a theory than fact. I have often had a few weeks off between classes, but this is now different.
I can make any schedule I want, or none at all if I so desire. Cool.
