Before going to dinner at friends' we went to the end of the SkyTrain line. In 35 minutes from our door we can be at Vancouver's Waterfront. We saw two cruise ships that would be heading towards Alaska within a few hours. It was a lovely day to walk around the Harbour Centre.

Then we caught a Davie Street bus to get to the apartment for dinner. It is always a pleasure to get together and often difficult to arrange because of conflicting schedules. After the meal, we walked down to the water, past the busy section of English Bay and out to the public swimming pools. On the way back we stopped on a bench to watch the sun set on the longest day of the year. It was a while before we got back to have dessert and participate in the actual hand-over of the ducks.

As noted here in this blog many times, a few plastic ducks act as a prompt for the group to meet up for dinners. The ducks live in a bag which goes to the house that next has to host the meal. This time the physical reminders came home with us.
