It has been a while since I commented on Bitcoin. Well, not so long in real-life but a lot in cryto-currency time. In the last entry, Mt. Gox, a former leading exchange, was in the throes of falling apart.
Yet, there's news on every front, always. For example, businesses such as expedia.com are now getting set up for transactions in bitcoins. A week from Friday, a part of the US government is auctioning off those bitcoins confiscated in the take-down of the illegal Silk Road website. I guess that is tacit approval.
I think it has been fun watching this all. The first time I owned any part of a bitcoin was in March 2013. So, I have surely witnessed a lot. I thought things might have settled down a bit by now, but I guess that is yet to come. It seems nice to no longer need to leave the comfort of Google to see price and information about Bitcoin.
