The river has been a part of life since we got to Cairo on Day 1. We will be heading to the Sinai Peninsula. In fact, the other side of it by tomorrow. Our planned route changed due to word that a major ferry is no longer running. We will be going all the way to Dahab on the east side. Second, my donkeys were on the road where our hotel was. Every time we went to town we walked past them and I like donkeys better than the horses. Finally, we were in town for four days and we ate four times in the same restaurant. It was near the train station and we always ended up back there.
We boarded this bus near the train station. I'm not quite sure why we were talked into taking a taxi there. I suppose it was worth the extra money to travel 6 miles or so to the bridge and then back into town. It would have been easier to cross on the government ferry as we did so many times. We got to the bus at around 4:00 and were in it by 5:00 pm.
