Last night, right after I'd written in an entry here saying that we'd probably not go out, we decided to visit downtown Vancouver. It cost nothing to board the SkyTrain and it connects right to our building, so there was little excuse not to get out. We stumbled down to Columbia Station at about 6:30 pm.
I guess the trip ended up affording us our only witnessed countdown to 2014. Of course, with the exception of Hawaii and a few other islands in the Pacific, most of the world gets a new year before us. The only thing Vancouver had to offer was the skating rink at Robson Square. It was family night but neither of us skate anyway. I guess, it was fun to see the crowds. Oh, by the way, the countdown was for little tots and occurred at 7:30 pm local time.
We also went to see the Christmas trees in the Four Seasons Hotel. In addition we walked a part of Granville and the length of Davie just for some exercise. We were back in New Westminster not long after the ball had dropped in NY's Times Square and were asleep by the time midnight finally arrived here.
