Post Black-Friday

I've never really been a "good, little consumer". How can I say this in another way? Well to me, shopping has never been a much of a participant sport. I don't mind a little grocery shopping as this seems almost immediately practical; however, I can easily forget most other forms of retail therapy. In fact, I rather feel sorry for those who find a day of bargain hunting worthwhile.

The word, hunt in the last sentence must be why some individuals seem predestined to run around looking for ways to spend money. This characteristic must be a leftover from the hunter-gatherer days of human evolution. There was a genetic advantage for those who were able to find items on the bottom of Maslow's Hierarchy. Of course, few of those genes are helpful in today's 24-hour, non-stop orgy of consumer marketing.

This is the first year I really noticed a Black Friday push in Canada. Now, I guess the time from the US Thanksgiving through Boxing Day will be when people are supposed to get out and spend! I feel I started off the season well. I walked around the Walmart Supercenter for, what seemed like, hours over the weekend. I managed to find these items to buy:
