We have to remember to visit Commercial Drive more often. It still is a fun mixture of eclectic shops, restaurants, and markets. It vaguely reminds me of Portland, Oregon by its odd mixture of eccentric people. One would be just as likely to see a homeless bum with a dog, a lulu lemon-clad young mom with a yoga mat, or a young couple totally dressed in black gothic. All these, plus one might see an older guy who's been hanging around since the neighbourhood was primarily Italian.
Today, however,
the dykes were out. They marched down a bit of the Drive and then settled into Grandview Park.
We met up with friends, and friends of friends, for lunch and a later coffee. Life is good. I'm so happy to be a grown up in a grown-up urban environment.
