Getting over to Queensborough by vehicle in the mornings is such a chore. Today, I wanted to stop by the Walmart to pick up a few things. It took about 20 minutes to travel the scant three miles or so. It would have been faster if I'd ridden the e-scooter, but it seemed like too much of a hassle to carry the battery down to my parking stall.
I have high hopes that truck traffic through downtown New Westminster will lessen once the South Fraser Perimeter Road opens. So many hundreds of containers have to cross over on Highway 1, then come through town to get back over the Queensborough Bridge. Some of those trucks may be headed to distribution on Annacis Island, but I am hoping much of it headed to Delta, will be able to stay on the other side of the river.
