I shouldn't be so willing to dismiss your possible knowledge, should I? Perhaps, I ought to say that until recently, I'd never known a dress-shirt's pocket size.
They are generally 5" wide and 5 1/2" deep. I know this now because my Nexus 7 measures in at 4.5" wide making an almost perfect fit. I don't think that fact was a surprise for Google engineers, as it was likely a consideration when deciding on the screen size for my newest Android device.
