At present it is summer and things are pretty slow. When I drive in three times a week, I have noted that the largest parking lot is host to some major construction. Today, I stopped to look at the informational sign posted on the perimeter of the work area. I think I'm thankful that we're not losing the area to a new building. Rather, from what I can gather, around two thirds of the space will sport a massive solar array. Apparently just a few spaces will be lost; rather, panels will provide covered parking in that section of Lot #7.
It seems that there's a big push to provide quick-charge electric charging on the campus. I bet this time is reminiscent of a period when people were giving up horses, but the infrastructure for petroleum was in its infancy. It's a little amazing that gas stations ended up on every other corner and liquid dinosaurs have been sitting in everyone's tank for a hundred years.
