A Show of Appreciation!

I teach many courses in an average year. I do not, however, generally receive gifts from students. It wasn't long ago that a class all autographed a baseball hat and presented it to me. Yet, my current group has definitely gone overboard.



They presented me with this very thoughtful and useful gift. I was a bit taken aback. They must have noticed that the thermos flask I was using looked as though it'd been through the many battles of a war. Or perhaps, I complained in front of them that the one I'd been using no longer kept coffee hot for long.

Whatever prompted them, I am very appreciative. The fact they arranged this secretly and gave it to me today has really motivated me. Sometimes it's the small things we do that can make a big impact on others. How appropriate that I feel honoured to teach these adults, right before our final examination on Wednesday!
