For quite a while I was considering locations in which we could own winter vacation property. It seems like it'd be comforting to have a small place somewhere warm to which we could escape winter rain and grey.In today's investment environment, it really doesn't make a lot of sense for us. A big negative aspect would be we'd also be tied to a single location year after year.
We can take that money, keep it at today's horrible interest rates, and still be better off without incurring foreign taxes or utility and maintenance fees. The same funds should allow us to spend up four or five months in sunny places for years and years.
Still it's interesting to do Internet research. So much information can come directly to a local screen. For example, yesterday, I got this brochure for new apartment construction in Sri Lanka.
