I used to always try to buy inexpensive belts. The problem was they never lasted long. Even ones made from leather would fall apart or the buckle would break. I absolutely hated cheap belts in which the holes would tear or deform. So, I remember the day I bought two pairs of Dickies, one beige and one black. Enough for $4 belts, I decided.
I remember this type of belt from Cub Scouts, I think. I just tried to find the real name for this type of hole-less belt. I guess they're called military buckles. In this case the fabric belt has worked out well as I've been able to cut segments out of it during 2012. I require a lot less belt nowadays.
