The final preparation for the completion of the Westminster Pier Park is at hand. Lots of the construction materials are being hauled away from the vacant parking area near the quay. There are hardly any shrubs and plants yet to be planted. Most importantly, most all the hardware has already been installed. In today's Daily Picture I added one of a hoop for the new, little basketball court. I can't wait to stretch out on the grass or one of the funky, permanent lawn chair seats which apparently can flip like a teeter totter to face either direction.
One fairly likable addition is a set of three wind socks. The park being on the historical waterfront, has a maritime theme. Although this picture was taken from the parkade, I can view these three cones from my apartment as well. Knowing which way the wind is blowing, although not crucial, is an interesting piece of data.
So, I wonder when the official announcement of the park's opening will be made!
