The temple was an amazing oasis in the middle of a very busy city. After being here for nearly two weeks, I'm very used to the enormous crowds now. I have almost forgotten the adjustment needed when navigating the streets and subways during the first few days. The relative quite of the temple made the visit all the more special.
Most international cities have areas that just draw in the crowds. In NYC, people go to Times Square, in Barcelona everybody strolls the La Rambla, and in Paris it's the Champs-Élysées. For the same reasons, this evening, we had to head back to Nanjing Road and the Bund.
We walked the length along the river to the end which has a passenger ferry. We crossed to the Pudong side and walked back to Lujiazui. The picture above was one of about a million we took of the Pudong side from the Bund.
