I spent at least half the morning looking at real estate MLS listings from all over the world. I've got it into my head that I want to start spending winters in a sunny place in just three years. The 1980's goal of Freedom 55, still works for me! Spending April through October in Vancouver would continue be absolutely stunning.
Starting in 2014, the other months are what all the research is about. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico would make a perfect place for winters. I love it there. Of course, the deals on US real-estate-bubble locations might also make a good fit. For example, there are some bargain condos in Las Vegas, Palm Springs, or places near Phoenix. Moreover, these seem even more reasonably priced due to over-par Candian dollars. As well, although there's a $1500 cost for air tickets to Sri Lanka, that might be a enriching way to spend time. Who knows, we might find some great places in Central America during our upcoming three-week vacation in April?
I really just need to pour a glass of red wine and get off the Internet ...
