not-so-subtle west coast bragging. ***
When nice weather arrives on a weekend in January, it's a time for celebration around here. Anticipating the sunshine today, I wrote a twitter message in the early morning which read:
Vancouverites stumble out of dwellings today and like moles stare blindingly at a rare winter glimpse of the sun.All right it was a bit of a hyperbole, but it would've been hard not to appreciate the outdoors today.
We left the house at 9:30 which is rather early for a Sunday morning. We had nothing planned but decided a trip downtown would be nice. The SkyTrain makes it so easy to get there. We got off near Waterfront and waited for Bus #19 to Stanley Park.
We walked just like tourists to the Totem Poles and around Brockton Point. We went back to Granville Street and caught the #6 Davie Street Bus. It was too nice not to stop by English Bay too.
After that it was getting to be near one o'clock so we decided to have lunch at Stepho's on Davie Street. Then we came home. It was just so nice to be out under the blue sky and on the green grass. I love Vancouver, sometimes even in January.
