Environment Canada has announced a snowfall warning but I won't panic as the expected accumulation is just five centimeters here, or less than two inches.
I do have a disproportionate number of local pictures with snow considering how infrequent it is Metro-Vancouver. I guess that's because it is rare enough to be an occasion. Many cameras only come out for special events, although I've taken at least one picture a day for years now.
On some years we have no measurable amount of snow down here near the Fraser River. Yet, often there's at least one annual storm which sticks. Of course, I like it when it does. My favorable opinion of the white stuff is due to the fact it seldom stays around for long. Who wouldn't like to see snow for several days?
This picture was taken in December of 2008. It is probably the most snow I've ever seen on Columbia Street in downtown New Westminster, BC. Rain washed it all away after two days.
