Walk a Mile in My GShoes

People may speak ill of the 'extra' data that Google inadvertently collected when their Street View vans were running around, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who are stupid enough to leave their wifi routers open to passersby.

I certainly cannot understand why any sane person would be upset by the privacy implications of the actual images. If it's visible from the street, well then, it is obviously public information. My beef with them is I wish the images were updated more frequently!



I love being able to take a mini-break to revisit somewhere we've been or a virtual pre-visit to someplace we're going. Prior to heading to NYC last Christmas, I walked around the area near our accommodation in Brooklyn. I felt right at home when exiting from the subway for the first time. The image above isn't from that trip.

I was just playing around thinking where it might be nice to take a week during the end of this! Should we travel somewhere close, like just over to the Island, or drive a short distance by car? Might it not be fun to take a cheap flight back to the dessert US southwest? On a road trip in 2008, I rather enjoyed Palm Springs, California.
