Yesterday, I drove home on a slightly different path. Although I'm teaching mornings now, when I try to commute home during rush hour, it is a whole lot faster to run up Royal Oak and slide along the midpoint of the hill. (You can see Royal Oak starting around kilomter 2.) I wanted to see how much father it is. As well as answering my question, it also provided this interesting graph. This shows the hill between the campus and home. The campus looks like it's on relatively low ground and the apartment is not far from sea level, here near the Fraser River. You can see that the graph is measured in meters, so I have to go over a hill that's over 320 feet.
My Tracks does a good job on highways but it's also designed to take along on hikes as well. How fun! Am I too old to decide I really like math a lot?
