Bell satellite is offering a preview of Turner Classic Movies in HD. I was a bit surprised when I noticed the availability of the station. There have been free offerings of other movies networks in the past but I was never impressed with the films shown on them. TCM is a bit different. I have already filled up the PVR with a huge selection of old movies. Whoever sets up its schedule has a bit of a sense of humour. For example, last week a series of movies had the word Alcatraz in the title. They were all different genres and from differing decades; the only connection was the common word in the title. Likewise, a series of movies were the Road to ... series.
I knew nothing about this series but nearly all that's important is on Wikipedia, isn't it?
Road to Singapore (1940)
Road to Zanzibar (1941)
Road to Morocco (1942)
Road to Utopia (1946)
Road to Rio (1947)
Road to Bali (1952)
The Road to Hong Kong (1962)
