It's easy to dismiss classic American TV as a silly waste of time. Yet, Gilligan's Island will never seem that way to me. It may have been childish but at the the time I was one. Speaking of islands . . .

By accident, I ended up viewing an old episode of The Time Tunnel from 1966. Well, accidental may not be exactly right; I mean I hadn't planned on watching the show from season one on Hulu. I noticed the series and I chose an episode randomly, but ended up watching the whole thing. It had plot holes but at least it was not just mindless drivel. I had to look up Devil's Island on Wikipedia as soon as I finished. The boob tube from 43 years ago prompted me to learn something new today.

Oh, and 1960's Lee Meriwether is my new infatuation.
