Even will all those years and trips, my truck has a bit less than 78,000 on it at the moment. I know as I had the oil changed today. I do that religiously every 3,000 miles. While it was in the shop, I asked them to pull the tires and check my brake shoes and pads. No need to worry about that yet as they still have 40% of their life left. The thing that is worth blogging about is the fact they are still original equipment. In 78,000 miles I guess I haven't stopped often. Well, here it is back during one of the last 13 springs it's seen.

I am pretty sure the brakes have lasted so long because I drive well. I mean, I plan ahead and don't need to come to a screeching halt very often. The truck is also a manual 5-speed so I frequently downshift when slowing down. Perhaps I'll have a complete brake job when it gets to 100 grand.
