Cub Scout Pack 40

Facebook has given me access to all sorts of personal history I wouldn't have had access to otherwise. For example, the following newspaper clipping was posted on the page of a person who was a high school classmate and friend of my mother. This most probably was printed in the former Argus Champion of Newport, NH. I'd estimate the year as approximately 1967 to 1969 as that would have made us the right age to be Cub Scouts.


HELPING SANTA CLAUS (and the Newport-Lake Sunapee Area Jaycees) are these members of Den Cub Scout Pack 40, picture here as they were interrupted while lugging toys into the Newport Community Center. Jaycess met Tuesday night to repair toys, of which they already have more than ?00 for needy youngsters. Deadline for donating toys is Dec. 15. They can be left at the Community Center, Belknap Ave., Monday through Saturday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 10 pm., or at AA Auto Parts, or C & A Auto Mart.
