One of the things that has to be said about Vancouver is that it's stunningly beautiful. I promised myself never to forget that when coming here to live. I assumed I'd never take the scenery for granted. I thought I'd never NOT notice what a nice place this is. I have to admit, sometimes I
do forget about the jaw-dropping city-scape. Last night, we went to visit an old colleague and friend who is up from San Francisco. It was a nice excuse to get downtown for the evening. We walked by the new Convention Centre towards the SeaBus. Although early in the season, and some cruise cutbacks, we still saw a ship heading out to ply the Inside Passage to Alaska.

We had drinks and dinner at a restaurant looking back over
Burrard Inlet towards the city. It was nice to get out on the water. I have renewed my vow about not taking the local sights for granted.
