Making Paper into Files

I don't have any classes for the rest of the month. Being free seems wonderful. When the weather's bad, I have time to do things which are not possible when fulfilling teaching responsibilities. For example, today I had out the scanner. As I don't use it frequently, I have to set it up each time. This sort of prevents acts of spontaneous imaging. I had to see if I had any old photos for a friend with whom I've recently reconnected. He still lives in Dubai, a place which I left over a dozen years ago.

I did find some photos which I scanned and emailed. While the photo albums were out, I threw a few others on the glass. Pictures which don't mean a whole lot at the time become more valuable as time passes. The image below was just snapped in the original 'Foundations Building' when HCT's Dubai Men's College, itself, was in a renovated old automobile showroom near the Clock Tower Roundabout. These students were just coming down the stairs from our second floor classrooms. I don't remember their names but recognize them as my students. Fifteen years on, they must have become old men!
