It was another typical day. We tend to get up before 8:00 am because we take a siesta for an hour every afternoon. Last night, we switched up our usual walk by not heading to the beach, choosing to see a bit more of our own neighbourhood. This side of Playa del Carmen is strictly a grid system of streets and avenues.
It's now a quarter to five in the afternoon. I just got out of the swimming pool and the water remains as frigid as ever! As the outside temperature is 30C today, I welcome the dips. When I'm up to my belly, I admit to often nearly chickening out of the final plunge. Jay's gone to the gym that's right on the third floor of the Palmarena, just like our studio apartment.
We will probably go to pick up groceries at the Walmart in a bit. I joked on FB about how short the days are and only getting 10 hours and 53 minutes of daylight in Playa del Carmen today. It gets dark between 6:00 and 6:30 pm in December. We might get down to 5th Avenue before dinner; I'm not really sure.
Time here is relaxing and in just a week we will go to Cancun for a 3-day Christmas break at an all-inclusive resort hotel. I seriously like our lives.
