EVA Air through Taiwan is a strong player and appears to be carrying on without a lot of cancellations, other than to Mainland China. Our originally-scheduled flights with them are on April 2nd. This turns out to be several days after the present government ban is to be lifted. We've talked about whether we should try to reschedule to leave early. I expect chaos in Canada too as the whole country has restricted international flights to specific airports, Vancouver being one of them. Frankly, life there doesn't sound easy right now.

At present, Jay and I think it is wise just to keep to our original plans. We are happy with our apartment, food, and Internet connection and the weather is great. Hey, we're also flexible and can adapt quickly to new circumstances should they arise. Our situation is better than so many others around the world. In fact, the worst thing up til now is we had to buy white bread at the supermarket today. You see, we generally only buy whole grains but they were sold out.
