Day 89 - I saw a whole lot of cooking going on after breakfast, again! I'd forgotten Jay and his sisters were preparing food for a neighbhour. Nobody was home in one particularly close house when they prepared food for the neighbourhood before Christmas. When Jay's dad died, these neighbours were extraordinarily helpful. So, they did want to make sure they get a delicious selection. Food and giving food is a big part of life here. It makes it a delicious way to taste others' home cooking.
I liked the fact they are so thoughtful. Oh, and a bit of the various foods were saved for our use. Was that really what made me pleased?
Nothing is a one-way street. Jay returned with this big bunch of Moringa (Drumstick tree) leaves. They are a favourite of his. There are all sorts of leaves eaten as food, both raw and cooked, here in Sri Lanka.
