Day 5 - At about 10:30 am a tuk-tuk arrived to take us downtown. It'd been years since I saw Minuwangoda which is about three kilometers from the house. Some things are changing but I'd still be able to find my way around.
First, we stopped at Singer. It's the old sewing machine brand but has a new lease on life through their showrooms selling electronics, appliances, and other devices. Jay bought a large, countertop water filter for the house so that the well water no longer needs to be boiled as had been the routine. Also, we stopped by the store of a family friend, Nazir. However, the main goal of the trip was to do grocery shopping.
Keel's supermarket is new, so I'd never visited it before. We filled up a shopping cart! It's good to see the expanding choices for people who live in the Minuwangoda area. We passed by a new Apico building being built. I don't know when it'll open but it surely looked enormous.

We saw a few other places and importantly bought some beer for me at a store on the way home. We had no empties to swap, so I paid deposits for all the 625 ml bottles. They are refilled in Sri Lanka. There was sure a lot to fit into our return trip via another tuk-tuk. The shopping trip was a nice part of the day.
