We only had one errand to run this morning. So, on our return from uptown, I plugged in at the New Westminster City Hall to get the KONA Electric's battery charged up to 100%. It's going to be a long five months. I don't have the convenience of having the EV plugged in at our parking space in this strata building.

The owner's manual suggests topping up before long storage to avoid having the battery low for an extended period. There is no oil or coolant to worry about. Electric vehicles, in general, require nearly zero maintenance. Folks are unduly afraid of EV's because of their unfamiliarity. Nowadays all production vehicles contain industrial-grade battery components and robust software systems. Being parked for five months will be much less stressful on my battery than having to endure numerous charging cycles during winter conditions in British Columbia.
Last night, the temperature was below freezing but our underground strata parkade stayed at about 12°C. I would not expect it to ever get much below 8°C or 10°C this winter. The area does allow dirt and grime to collect though. One of my first purchases for Kimchi was a car cover. I had not unfolded it until today. Yay, it fits!

It will be interesting to see how much charge I lose between now and the beginning of April.
