When one is not well, the world seems darker and things a little depressing. This made me think about the prevalence of sickness in stories, movies, and TV dramas. I'd bet that authors do not accurately reflect the amount of illness, especially in the days before advancements in medicine. For most of the history of civilization, learned doctors did not know about bacteria and the causes of infectious outbreaks. The modern, corner pharmacy seems like an amazing tribute to scientific progress.
The nifuroxazide in our travel-medicine kit has me on the mend. And being able to open the door to flowers is an additional booster towards a quicker recovery.
