This is the twenty-eighth summer we've lived in Vancouver, BC. We do love summertime here and all the activities that folks try to cram into the limited months of typically spectacular weather.
There are literally hundreds of events during the months of June, July, and August.
Jay and I lived the prior ten years to Canada in countries that have never had gay pride events. We found the public show of support and inclusion here interesting.
It's now many years later but we still show our faces along Vancouver's Pride Parade every year that it is possible. Times change but both of us think it is important to showcase tolerance and acceptance in a concrete manner.
The great strides in equality made in recent decades could be easily erased without an active participation by members in a society.
