This afternoon, I'm waiting for the Amazon guy. He should be bringing my replacement Pixel wristwatch soon.
Yesterday, my old watch suddenly showed a white G on the screen and that was all. It tried rebooting a number of times and once I was able to get to some menus but it wasn't behaving in a normal way. I let it sit on its charger for a few hours and, then, nothing. Nothing was visible on the watch face and it wouldn't turn on. It couldn't even be reset. That was majorly disappointing.
Initially, I thought I'd never own a connected smartwatch. However, since spending time with the first version of the Pixel, I have learned to like it a lot. It's often much easier than digging my phone out of a pocket. I found notifications much more intuitive when reading on my wrist.
Most important, I hadn't realized just how I addicted I've become to the health-monitoring provided by the its Fitbit integration. I do more than just track steps. I monitor my pulse rates and check on my sleep stats every morning. As soon as I realized I didn't have access to that data, I felt sad. I was and continue to be without important and necessary information.
I immediately ordered a replacement through Amazon last night. Delivery is promised for today and I'm waiting impatiently.
