Day 3 - After breakfast we headed out to see more of Berlin. We also found our way back to the Berlin Central Train Station and purchased some tickets for a day trip to the city of Leipzig. We will go tomorrow. Before the days of the Internet Jay had an East German pen-pal from that city although they lost contact over the years.
We were waiting until 1:00 pm in order to use a reservation we got yesterday. We stopped to book free entrance to Berlin's Bunderstag Building. The building was originally constructed between 1884 and 1894. The redesign was completed in 1999 and it is now where the German Federal Parliament meets. The dome is open to the public. Citizens can look down into the chamber where the legislators convene.
We had to show passports and go through security. The views from the building and the dome were interesting. We are happy we got a chance to visit.
