Day 33 - A few initial thoughts on cooperation in the new year: May the world learn to work together as have these birds and cows. A small herd lives in the neighbourhood moving from area to area keeping the lawns mowed. In the mornings, they sometimes submit to a little mite removal by a local flock of crows. It provides a mutually beneficial outcome.
Earlier in the day, we walked to the neighbourhood morning market. One lady made 10 hoppers for us. Jay bought some bananas and vegetables.
As I write this, 2017 is soon to slip into history. It was a year packed with quite a few events for us. We stayed the winter at home, preparing for Jay's open heart surgery at the beginning of April. Then, astonished by his rapid recovery, we chose to get out in the world to see new places. We did this via Holland-America ships spending time in the Mediterranean and then a 'one-way' to New Zealand from Vancouver. We spent 66 days at sea and in ports during this year.
Finally, we have been able to head for the winter we'd put on hold. Penang is turning out to be a great place to spend our winter. And we've still got a month and a half from the end of February in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
