Today, however, we drove to Coquitlam to the SilverCity next to our regular Superstore. That huge, fairly-new complex went under major renovations a few years back. We figured as we were going to see Rogue One, it'd be worth going several miles to view in UltraAVX with the immense screen and awesome audio. At the ticket kiosk, we noticed the rows in which we usually sit were unavailable. Oh, those were the D-Box seats!
We'd been contemplating paying the extra $5 a ticket for the motion seats. We found the center seats of row "I" had them. We'd never tried these before but figured a Star Wars episode would be about as good of a first try as any movie could be.
For the first 10 minutes it seemed rather gimmicky. Yet, by the time the movie got interesting, the motion effects were not distracting at all. In fact, I think it added quite a lot of enjoyment to the movie. D-Box seats are certainly not necessary for every film, but I will consider using them again should we go to an appropriate one.
