I'm glad that we have come to actually participate in a bit of life here. I am pretty confident that we will never see Egypt after our stay this winter. Yet, I feel very fortunate to have learned about another place by being in it. This is the major goal in Our 10-Year Plan. We will have the chance to call more places home than most others.
We went over the the east side today. I noticed that new date trees were planted the length of El-Mansheya and Al Masaken / Al Shaabeya Streets. In our heads, we now have a map of the city. This is much like so many other places in which we've been fortunate enough to reside. I know brain space is pretty much unused as I don't have to throw away the memories of other places to store new ones. (At least, not quite yet!) We probably will never get to see when the branches spread across the streets. I bet it will be nice.
