Spending five months somewhere is the perfect amount of time. Anything less is just a vacation. People can experience glimpses of life when visiting somewhere, but living there allows a much more accurate view. It's probably true that ideas about any location are merely subjective opinions. One's experiences are coloured by one's history and learned views.
I do find, that after having lived so long and travelled so far, it becomes important to commit to documenting daily life. For example, today's big event involved only walking to the main street of the West Bank and buying fruits, vegetables, and a few groceries. We walked along the river but cut back through the Ramla neighbhourhood. I will leave with feelings about life here, but by adding a couple of pictures, I hope to extend the number of details I'll be able to remember someday down the road.
