Rather than heading to that large open space, we just went across the river to the area behind the train station this morning. We'd seen a few vendors there in the past but didn't realize that Tuesdays are main market days there too.
Rather strangely, no one uses the large covered area with stalls. Rather the fruit and vegetables, clothes, and live animals are sold right on the side of the road, or at times in it.
Although physically a bit closer, getting to today's market requires quite a bit more walking. I'm not sure whether we'll opt to shop here or return to the Qurna market location in the future. Whichever we choose, it is surely going to make buying vegetables at home seem really, very boring.
